With the 2010-2011 season Coach Shevchik enters his tenth year at the helm of the Giants baseball program.
The 2010 season saw the Giants put together a 30-win season and another CSAC championship. In addition to capturing Coach of the Year honors in the conference, Coach Shevchik once again saw one of his players earn Player of the Year laurels.
In fact, Coach Shevchik has the distinct pleasure of coaching the conference player of the year for the past six seasons.
The 2010 season also saw another Giant earn All-America honors, the third in the past two seasons.
Coach Shevchik and his Giants picked up right where they left off, as the Giants entered a new conference in 2009 with the same results. He led the Giants to a mark of 40-6 and the team's second straight NCAA tournament berth. The Giants advanced to the title game of the Mid-Atlantic Regional.
The Giants once again dominated the conference post-season awards with Keystone players picking up Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year honors, with coach Shevchik also capturing the Coach of the Year award.
Coach Shevchik's 2008 squad captured its third conference title in the past four years, while also earning the program's first trip ever to the NCAA Division III Baseball Championships. He can also take pride in the fact that for the fourth consecutive year, the conference Player of the Year wore the Keystone colors and for the second straight year, the Giants also staked claim to the conference Pitcher of the Year.
Following the 2005-2006 season the Giants repeated as the champions of the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) claiming their second straight conference championship. The team also earned a return trip to the ECAC South Region baseball championships, where the Giants advanced to the title tilt. During the 2005-2006 campaign, Coach Shevchik guided the Giants to the NEAC championship and then followed that fête up two weeks later by leading the team to the ECAC South Region Baseball Championship. As a result of his team's accomplishments Coach Shevchik was named as the coach of the year in the NEAC.
During the 2004 campaign he earned his 100th career victory while leading the Giants to a 30-win season. The 2004 edition of the Giants earned a trip to the United States Collegiate Athletic Association National Championships.
Under Coach Shevchik, the Giants captured the Fall 2002 EPCC and PCAA championships and coach Shevchik was also named the PCAA state coach of the year. The Giants set a school record for victories during the 2002-2003 campaign, finishing with a record of 46-13.
Season number one was a memorable one as well for the rookie coach. Coach Shevchik captured Coach of the Year honors in the EPCC and led the team to a championship in the EPCC and a runner-up finish in the NJCAA Region XIX. The Giants also set what was a then school record for wins in a season with 42.
Coach Shevchik joined the Keystone baseball coaching staff in January 1998 as an assistant. He has been instrumental in developing the young and talented pitching staff
In 1993 and 1994, Coach Shevchik was an outstanding pitcher and outfielder at Keystone. Following his graduation from Mid Valley High School and his time at Keystone, his talents allowed him to continue his baseball career at East Stroudsburg University.
Coach Shevchik currently resides with his wife Maria and daughters Brielle and Giana in Clarks Summit, Pa.
