Brink's leg lifts Giants to women's soccer victory

Somerset, NJ (9-1-10) - Freshman Charlice Brink made sure that the 2010 season would be no repeat of the 2009 campaign.

The Keystone women's soccer team, which failed to crack the win column last season, got their season started on a strong note as the Giants rode a four goal outburst by Brink to top College of St. Elizabeth, 4-3 in non-conference action.

The match was the season opener for both squads.

La Plume, PA (9-1-10) - Alvernia University kicked off the 2010 volleyball season by recording a 3-0 victory over Keystone in non-conference action.

This marked the second consecutive year that the two programs met to start the season, with Keystone taking last year's match at Alvernia.

The Crusaders took the match by scores of 25-23, 25-11 and 25-16.

King's takes field hockey opener

Wilkes-Barre, PA (9-1-10) - Four different players recorded goals as King's College downed Keystone 4-0 in non-conference field hockey action.

The match was the season opener for both squads.

The Monarchs, who held a 23-2 advantage in shots, strung together three second half goals en route to the win.
