Keystone announces December athletes of the month

La Plume, PA (12-18-09) - The Keystone College athletic department has announced that Ellen Fallon and Kenneth Hardnett have been named the Keystone College female and male athletes of the month for December.
Fallon, a junior from Scranton, PA and graduate of Scranton High School, is a member of the women’s basketball team. The hot shooting guard helped the Giants to a victory in their conference opener during the month. Fallon’s high point tally during the month came in a victory over Philadelphia Biblical University in which she hit for 20 points. She also tallied five rebounds, four steals and a pair of assists against the Crimson Eagles. She followed that performance with a 10 point game against Marywood and a 15 point effort against King’s. In the King’s contest she also recorded five steals to go along with four rebounds. Her 18.8ppg average ranks her third in the CSAC in scoring, while her 3.6spg are tops in the conference.
Hardnett, a sophomore from Plant City, FL and graduate of Plant City High School, is a member of the men’s basketball team. The high flying forward helped lead the Giants to a 3-0 mark in December, including helping the team improve to 3-0 in conference play and a 5-2 overall mark. In a CSAC victory over Philadelphia Biblical University, he netted 14 points while also pulling in a career high 17 rebounds to go along with six steals and four assists. Two days later helped Keystone down Marywood University with a 15 point and 11 rebound outing, while also adding five assists. He capped off the month by scoring 14 points and grabbing nine rebounds as the Giants cruised by Rutgers Camden. Hardnett heads into the holiday break leading the team in scoring, rebounding, steals and assists. His .688 shooting percentage and 11.6rpg average are tops in the CSAC, while his 15.4ppg ranks him seventh.
The Keystone College Athlete of the Month program honors male and female student-athletes each month from September through April. All monthly recipients are eligible for the Keystone College male and female Athlete of the Year honor which will be awarded at the department's annual year-end athletic banquet.
