Griffins take two in CSAC softball action
Gwynedd Valley, PA (4-9-09) - Gwynedd-Mercy College took both ends of its softball doubleheader with Keystone, 5-2 and 4-1.

With the sweep the Griffins move to 6-18 overall and 5-7 in the CSAC, while the Giants fall to 5-15 and 4-6 in conference play.

In the opener the Griffins used a two run third and three run fifth to muster their five runs, while Keystone recorded single runs in the fifth and seventh.

Sabrina Johnson and Katie Butzer each collected two hits as part of the Giants six hit game.  Lori-Ann Marino doubled for Keystone's only extra base hits, while Butzer collected an RBI.

Meagan Cunningham suffered the loss, allowing eight hits and three earned runs.

Megan Thomas was a two-time hitter for the Giants in game two, while Johnson doubled for the team's lone extra base hit in the nightcap.  Cunningham once again suffered the loss, allowing three earned runs and striking out three.

Keystone returns to action on Saturday April 11 at 1pm when they play host to College of Notre Dame in a CSAC twin bill.
