La Plume, PA (4-29-09) - The Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) has announced that Keystone College's Megan Thomas has been selected as a 2009 First Team All-Conference softball selection.
The CSAC also announced that Kim Kwitoski was named to the Second Team All-Conference, while Sabrina Johnson was named as an Honorable Mention selection.
Thomas, a senior from Clarks Summit, PA, was selected to the First Team as a utility player. Thomas led the Giants in hitting with a .307 average (31-101). In addition to leading the team in hits, she also topped five other offensive categories. Thomas led the team in runs batted in with 21, doubles with eight, slugging percentage at .475 and was tied for the team lead in triples with three and home runs with one. She was also fourth on the team in runs scored with 19.
Kwitoski, a senior from Montrose, PA, was selected to the Second Team as an outfielder. After a slow start, Kwitoski came on strong during the second half of the season to finish with a .250 average. Kwitoski started all 34 games this season collecting 19 hits. She was second on the team in runs
scored with 21 and fourth in runs batted in with 13.
Johnson, a freshman from Muncy, PA, patrolled left-field for the Giants this season. Johnson batted .299 (29-97) on the year with 19 runs scored and seven runs batted in. She also collected five doubles, three triples and a home run. Her 19 runs tied for third on the team, while her triples and home run totals tied her for the team lead.
Junior pitcher Meagan Cunningham was named as Keystone College's CSAC Sportsmanship Award Recipient.
