Booth named CSAC Scholar-Athlete of the Year
La Plume, PA (5-27-09) - The Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) has announced that Keystone College's Robert Booth has been named as the Male Scholar Athlete of the Year.

Booth, who just celebrated his graduation from Keystone during May's commencement ceremonies, carried an overall grade point average of 3.80 into the spring semester.

A native of Olyphant, PA and graduate of Mid Valley High School, Booth was also a recipient of the N. Scott Thurston Award at Keystone College.  The Thurston award is given annually to one male and one female student-athlete who are in their junior or senior year and have demonstrated outstanding academic excellence.

A member of the College's Cross Country and Track and Field programs for four years, he also served as team captain for the past two years, as well as having served as a member of Keystone's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

Booth was named a member of the Dean's List in every semester during his time at Keystone, while also being named to the President's List for three semesters.  He was awarded the Breslin Award for the Outstanding Communications Student receiving their Bachelor's Degree and is listed in the Who's Who Among American Colleges and Universities.

A member of the CSAC All-Academic Team, he helped lead his team to a second place finish at the 2008 CSAC Cross Country Championships.

A 2007-2008 recipient of the North Eastern Athletic Conference Scholar-Athlete Award, Booth has continually been active in the community as a regular participant in local blood drives, Thanksgiving charitable dinners and with the 5K run and fundraiser to benefit the Louis V. DiGregorio Foundation for Brain Aneurysm Research.

Booth, who designed, produced and starred in his own sports highlights show and website as part of his senior project, will begin work for ESPN.com in June.
