Keystone baseball selected 11th in pre-season poll

La Plume, PA (1/5/10) - Coming off of a 2009 campaign that saw them compile a 40-6 overall record and the highest winning percentage in Division III baseball, the Keystone College Giants debuted at number 11 in Collegiate Baseball Newspaper's 2010 NCAA Division III pre-season poll.

While the Giants are the only Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) team to earn a spot in the poll, four of the Giants' 2010 opponents are included in the list.

Kean University, who was responsible for three of the Giants six losses last season, will put their number six ranking on the line when they travel to Keystone for a single game on Sunday March 21.

The Giants will square off against the 16th ranked team in Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute during their spring trip to Florida on March 10, while SUNY Cortland, ranked 17th, will play the Giants in a home-and-home this season.  The first contest will be April 3 at Cortland with the return date of April 21 at Keystone.  William Paterson University, who is listed among the other top teams in the poll, will play host to Keystone on April 28.

Another highlight of the 2010 slate is an April 27 contest at Division I Bucknell University.

Keystone will open its 2010 campaign on March 6 against Misericordia University in Winter Haven, Florida.  The team will play nine games while in the sunshine state, with a doubleheader at Stevenson University in Maryland on March 14 concluding their southern swing.

The team kicks off its northern schedule on March 19 when they open up CSAC play by hosting Marywood University.
