Giants fall in battle of ranked teams
Winter Haven, FL (3-10-10) - Powered by an 11-run effort in the seventh inning, ninth-ranked Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) downed 17th ranked Keystone College, 14-0.

With the loss Keystone fell to 4-2 on their season opening Southern road trip.

The game marked a big match-up between the two ranked squads, which both appeared in the NCAA Tournament last season.

RPI got on the board quickly, opening up a 3-0 lead through the first five innings against Sean Murphy.  The Engineers offense broke loose in the top of the seventh as the first six hitters all reached against the Giants' Brian Del Rosso.  Del Rosso allowed five runs before giving way to Cesar Gracia, who surrendered the next six hits to Rensselaer.

The game was called at the end of the inning due to darkness.
