Keystone announces February athletes of the month

La Plume, PA (3-2-10) - The Keystone College athletic department has announced that Jenna Fancher and Kenneth Hardnett have been named the Keystone College female and male athletes of the month for February.
Fancher a junior from Kingsley, PA and graduate of Mountain View High School, is a member of the women’s track and field team. Fancher helped anchor the Keystone relay teams, while also setting a new personal best mark in the 3000m. Fancher kicked started the month with a PR time of 12:12.70 in the 3000m while competing at the East Stroudsburg Invitational. The following week at Susquehanna University she recorded the team's fastest time of the year in the Mile, crossing the tape in 6:06. She also anchored the 4 x 400 relay team that turned in a season best time of 4:39.75. The following week at the DuCharme Invitational at Dickinson College, Fancher anchored both the 4 x 400 relay team and the Distance Medley Relay Team. The squad turned in a time of 4:42.36 in the 4 x 400 and a season best 14:52.36 in the Medley Relay. The strong showing by the relay teams accounted for all the points earned for the Keystone women that day.
Hardnett, a sophomore from Plant City, FL and graduate of Plant City High School, is a member of the men’s basketball team. The March honor marks three straight months in which Hardnett has picked up the monthly honor. Hardnett helped lead the Giants to a 5-3 mark during the month, including the number two seed in the conference playoffs and a berth in the semi-finals. Hardnett, who was a First Team selection in the CSAC, led the team in scoring at 13.8ppg on 60.5% shooting from the field. The sophomore averaged a double-double during the month by pulling in 10.0rpg. He led the team in rebounding on six occasions and scoring four times in February. He recorded four double-doubles during the season ending stretch, including four games in which he scored 17 or more points.
The Keystone College Athlete of the Month program honors male and female student-athletes each month from September through April. All monthly recipients are eligible for the Keystone College male and female Athlete of the Year honor which will be awarded at the department's annual year-end athletic banquet.
