Track teams kick off outdoor season
West Long Branch, NJ (3-27-10) - The Keystone College track and field teams opened their 2010 outdoor season competing at the Monmouth University Invitational.

The Giants mixed it up with the strongest competition they will see this season, as 17 Division I programs took part in the meet.

Mark Cruver, a freshman for the Giants, made his mark early setting a new school record in the javelin with a distance of 158-11, 29 feet past the old mark.

Travis Calvert, Joe Stauder, Ryan Fegley, and Eric Shotto decided to join in on the action later in they day setting a school record in the Sprint Medley Relay. Calvert led off with a split of 24.8 seconds for 200 meters, while Stauder had to run the second 200 meters into a stiff head wind splitting 26.0 seconds. Fegley split a personal record of 53.5 seconds for the 400 meter leg and Shotto closed the school record performance by running the 800 meter leg in a time of 2 minutes 8.8 seconds. All together the team ran a combined time of 3 minutes 53.02 seconds.

Matt Fabbri, another freshman student-athlete, stepped up big on the track breaking into the program's all time record books in both the 1500 meters (#7) and 800 meters (#9). Fabbri also anchored the 4x400 relay team splitting the best time of the group with a leg of 54.1 seconds.

On the women’s side of things the stand out performance of the day went to Rebecca Drumheller. Becca broke into the school record books in both the 200 meters (#4) and the 100 meters (#6). Becca’s 200 meter time of 30.55 seconds was also good enough to set her a new personal record. 

Other school records sets on the day were: Mike Bolden (Long Jump), Ryan Fegley (400 meters), and Eric Hinkel (5000 meters). 

The event was a non-scoring team event.  Individual results for Keystone are below:

200 meters: Joe Stauder – 24.03 seconds

110 Hurdles: Travis Calvert – 18.12 seconds

400 Meters: Ryan Fegley – 54.11 seconds; Steve Pohlig – 56.17 seconds

400 Hurdles: Travis Calvert – 59.91 seconds

800 meters: Matt Fabbri – 2:08.95; Geoff Noonan – 2:12.58; Zach Knott – 2:28.51; Ryan Darroch – 2:33.10
