Surfside Beach, SC (3-7-10) - Wentworth Institute of Technology broke open a scoreless game with a four run third inning, as Keystone dropped its season opener 8-1.

Wentworth would push across a pair of runs in the fifth and sixth to secure the win. while the Giants scored their lone run in the bottom half of the sixth.

Four different Keystone players recorded hits, with Abby Cohen (Bethlehem, PA/Freedom) and Carissa Iyoob (Jessup, PA/Valley View) picking up triples, while Katie Butzer (Lancaster, PA/Penn Manor) and Jessica Weingart (Belle Mead, NJ/Montgomery ) added singles. Cohen also added a double for the Giants.

The Giants scored their lone run when Iyoob hit a one out triple and came around to score on an RBI ground out by Samantha Hartman (Red Bank, NJ/Red Bank Regional).  

Tara Diesel (Bethpage, NY/Bethpage) worked two and a third innings to absorb the loss.  Diesel allowed three runs, only one earned, on two hits while striking out four.  Meagan Cunningham (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) allowed four unearned runs in relief while striking out three.
