Dallas, PA (4-30-10) - The Keystone track and field team continued its impriessive outdoor seaosn by setting six school records at the Ed Nark Invitational at Misericordia University.
Freshman Donnie Whyte snagged two of the school records for the Giants in Shot Put (36-5) and Hammer Throw (79-9.25), while fellow Wyalusing grad Mark Cruver also took home a school record in the Javelin Throw with a toss of 166-1.
Senior Travis Calvert was able to bring home his own school record performance in the 110 meter High Hurdles bounding over the 10 barriers in a time of 16.67 seconds.
The other two school records on the day belonged to the men’s relays teams. In the 4x100 meter Relay, Joe Stauder took the Giants out with his best start on the season. Ryan Fegley ran second leg blowing the gap open on the competition. Travis Calvert and Brian Slater held on to the commanding lead and brought the stick home in a time of 43.70 seconds to take the victory.
The 4x400 meter Relay ended the day for the track team with their own school record. Brian Slater ran a huge first leg giving the team every opportunity to get the school record. Maurice Evans and Matt Fabbri kept the team on record pace, and Sophomore stand out Ryan Fegley brought the stick home with a split of 51.6 seconds to ensure the school record performance. The 4x400 meter Relay time was 3 minutes 32.64 seconds.
Other notable performances on the day for the Giants were Dan Toye in the 800 meters going sub 2 minutes for the first time this year and Latoya Campbell and Rebecca Drumheller racing neck and neck down the home stretch in the 200 meters.
On the day the Keystone College Giants had 24 personal records broken.
