Cazenovia, NY (9-4-10) - Keystone College overcame a 2-1 set deficit to force a deciding fifth set, but the Giants came up short in their quest to pick up their first win of the season, falling 3-2 to Cazenovia College.
With the win Cazenovia moves to 1-0, while Keystone falls to 0-2.
After taking the first set 25-20, Keystone ended up on the short end of the next two, falling 25-17 and 25-19. They stormed back in set four taking a 25-20 decision.
Despite jumping out to an early advantage in the deciding fifth set, the Giants fell 15-11.
Shelby Morgan recorded five kills to go along with three aces and 21 digs. Kendra Bianchi led the Giants with 37 digs to go along with three aces, while Danielle Cedeno added 12 digs.
Leah Simko recorded 28 of the team's 29 aces in an impressive showing.
The team will return home on Tuesday night at 7pm for a match with Misericordia University.
