La Plume, Pa. – Keystone College student-athletes teamed up with the Salvation Army last Thursday night for its third annual Adopt a Family gift wrapping party. The Giants helped make the holiday season brighter this year by collecting and wrapping presents which will be donated to eight local families in need this December.
Student-athletes and coaches from 13 of Keystone's varsity athletic programs participated in Thursday's gift wrapping party which was preceded by each team shopping for the gifts to be presented to the families.
Keystone's men's and women's track & field and cross country teams collected and wrapped gifts for a family of five while the men's soccer and softball programs each are donating gifts to families of four. The Giants' men's lacrosse, volleyball, women's basketball, women's soccer, and wrestling squad each are helping a family of three this holiday season.
Keystone's student-athletes who participated in Thursday's gift wrapping party enjoyed helping families in need, particularly during this holiday season. The charitable project also helped the Giants' student-athletes further understand and appreciate the challenges that many people face year-round. Keystone's student-athletes expressed gratitude for what they have and feel it is important to give back to the community, particularly to those less fortunate and facing difficult times.
