Christy Mathewson Field

Christy Mathewson Field is the home of Keystone Giants baseball.

The field has seen significant upgrades including a re-leveling project, the addition of bleacher seating behind home plate, a new scoreboard, and the installation of windscreens.

Initial phases of a 2019 planned renovation project were completed in 2020 with the addition of two paved parking lots, new locker rooms facilities, a team room, and a new Olympic weight room.

Christy Mathewson was a native of Factoryville, Pa. and attended Keystone Academy — a high school at the time now known as Keystone College. Mathewson was an inaugural inductee in not only the Keystone College Athletics Hall of Fame in 2005, but also the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1936.

Keystone took on the Giants nickname in honor of Mathewson's Hall of Fame pitching career with the New York Giants from 1900-16.

Project Support

Upgrade plans began in 2019 with the intent to include: brick dugouts, new infield, new turf halo, covered hitting facility, new pavilion, new bullpen/fencing, new brick wall/backstop netting, new concession stand with elevated press box, and two elevated party decks.

The program has secured half of the funding through anonymous donations and is asking for matching funds with five-year naming rights for the following areas:

Club/Locker Room (Woodlands Center for Athletics)

New addition as part of the baseball and Woodlands Center for Athletics renovation completed in 2021.

Performance Training Center

Completed prior to the 2022 season, the Performance Training Center sits beyond the left field fence of Christy Mathewson Field and is between the coaches' offices and the Woodlands Center for Athletics. The PTC was converted from an old maintenance garage used by the school's facilities crew.
