Field hockey falls to Scranton in OT, 1-0
Scranton, PA (10-15-08) - Diana Rocklein converted a penalty stroke 7:31 into overtime as the University of Scranton downed Keystone 1-0 in non-conference field hockey action.
With the victory Scranton moves to 8-6, while Keystone falls to 7-6.
In a game that saw few scoring chances, the teams combined for 11 shots on goal, Scranton made the most of its penalty stroke in overtime.
In the closing moments of regulation the Giants' Nicole Macedonio nearly converted the potential game winner, only to see her shot strike the right post and roll out of bounds. Keystone keeper Breanna Auld recorded six saves in goal.
The match marked the first time since 1981 that the two programs met on the field hockey field.
Keystone will return to action on Saturday October 18 at 12:30pm when they travel to Philadelphia Biblical University.
