Pacers blank Giants 1-0

Scranton, PA (10-22-08) - Anthony Kapp scored a goal early in the first half and Marywood University's defense made it stand as the Pacers picked up a 1-0 win over  Keystone College in CSAC men's soccer action.

With the victory Marywood moves to 11-5 and 5-2 in conference play, while Keystone falls to 3-10-1 and 1-4.

The Pacers struck just 4:09 into the game as Alex Dawson sent a cross from the baseline that Anthony Kapp one-timed into the side netting to give the Pacers the early lead.  The Pacers out-shot the Giants 17-2 in the opening half, but could not get anymore past Keystone goalkeeper Ryan Wagner (Hegins, PA/Tri-Valley). 

The second-half was more evenly played with the Pacers holding a narrow 6-5 edge in shots, but neither team could find the back of the net.  Wagner recorded 10 saves on the day.

The Giants return to action on Saturday at 1pm when they play host to Gwynedd Mercy College.
