Giants win season opener, 86-79
Doylestown, PA (11-18-08) - Tercel Taylor (Jackson, MI/Jackson) netted a team high 21 points to lead five players in double digits as Keystone edged out Delaware Valley 86-79.
The game marked the season opener for both teams.
The Giants raced out to a 13-point lead at the break, while shooting 50% for the game. In a game that featured 66 free throws, Keystone shot 72% from the stripe on 22-32 shooting.
Taylor connected on four of the team's five three-pointers to pace the team. Joining Taylor in double digits was Ryan Sullivan (Schweinfurt, Germany/Shaker) with 17 points on 5-7 from the floor and 7-8 from the free throw line. Sullivan also added 10 boards to record the double-double.
Michael Kelly (New Hartford, NY/New Hartford)'s 7-8 from the floor accounted for 14 points, while he also turned in a double-double with 10 rebounds. Kelly dished out a team high five assists.
Gary Robinson (Brooklyn, NY/Wyoming Seminary ) and Ryne Luce (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes) each chipped in with points.
Keystone will return to action on Friday 11/21 at 6pm when they battle host Clarkson in the North Country Coaches vs. Cancer Classic. The consolation and championship games will be played on Saturday.
