Albertus Magnus squeaks by Keystone 73-67

Madison, NJ (11-22-08) - Albertus Magnus used a dominating performance on the boards to edge out Keystone 73-67 in a semi-final game at the Rose City Classic.

With the win Albertus Magnus stayed perfect at 3-0, while Keystone fell to 1-2.

Albertus Magnus used a 53-31 advantage in rebounding and a pair of doubles to secure the win.

Nikki McClease's points and 17 rebounds and Collette DuBose's 11 points and 13 rebound game provided the punch that Albertus Magnus needed as the duo combined for 30 of the team's 53 boards.

Leah Simko paced Keystone with 13 points, while Ellen Fallon and Jessica Kobesky each netted 12 points.  Melinda Moore rounded out the double digit scorers with 10.  Fallon also dished out a game high five assists.

Despite the rebounding difficulties for Keystone, it was perhaps the Giants' free throw shooting that may have cost them a shot at a victory as they managed to hit on only 15 of 26 attempts.

Keystone will play Hood College in Sunday's consolation game.
