Men's soccer drops season opener
La Plume, PA (9-3-08) - Misericordia University scored four second half goals in a span of 15 minutes en route to a 5-0 victory over Keystone College in non-conference men's soccer action.
With the victory the Cougars improved to 3-0 on the year, while the Giants drop to 0-1.
Tyler Mensch scored the lone goal of the opening half with just over twelve minutes to play to provide the halftime margin.
The teams played a scoreless second half for the first 28 minutes until Max Campbell connected off an assist from Josh Stewart. Stewart would feed Josh Buskirk 2:30 later for the Cougars third goal. Less than a minute later Campbell converted a penalty kick for a 4-0 lead. Stewart closed out the scoring at 88:27.
Keystone's Ryan Wagner (Hegins, PA/Tri-Valley) recorded 11 saves in goal as Misericordia outshot the Giants by 28-5 margin.
Keystone returns to action on Saturday September 6 at 3:30pm when they travel to Juniata College.
