Rosemont, PA (1-12-09) - All five starters for Keystone placed in double figures as the Giants recorded their third straight win, 76-65 over Rosemont College.
With the victory Keystone moves to 6-4 overall and 1-1 in the CSAC, while Rosemont fell to 3-8, 0-3.
Keystone came out as the hot team, building a 40-17 lead at the half. The Giants' defense held Rosemont to just 10% shooting from the field, including an 0-8 effort from three-point range in the first twenty minutes of action. Rosemont scored 11 of their 17 first half points from the charity stripe.
Rosemont made a game out of it in the second half, as they twice erased double digit deficits to cut the Keystone lead to five. The Ramblers opened the second half on a 30-12 run to pull within 52-47 with 11:26 remaining.
After the Giants built another double digit lead, the Ramblers once again inched back within five at 56-51 with 7:49 remaining. That was the closest Rosemont would get the rest of the way.
Ellen Fallon led Keystone with 21 points to go along with five rebounds. The trio of Sarah Barretto, Danielle Burke and Leah Simko each added 11, while Jessica Kobesky chipped in with 10. Kobesky added nine rebounds, while Burke dished out four assists.
Melinda Moore was tops on the glass for the Giants with 11 boards, as Keystone held a slim 51-48 rebounding edge.
Vanessa Johnson netted a game high 22 points to pace Rosemont.
Keystone returns to action on Thursday January 15 at 6pm when they travel to Baptist Bible College.
