Lunger's career night lifts Giants

La Plume, PA (1-13-09) - Spencer Lunger (Lake Winola, PA/Tunkhannock) came off of the bench to net a career high 33 points as the Giants overcame a five point first half deficit to notch a 75-66 victory over Immaculata University in conference action.

With the win the Giants move to 7-3 overall and 2-1 in the CSAC, while Immaculata falls to 4-6 and 2-2.

Lunger had the stroke of a skilled marksman as the junior was 8-14 from the field, including hitting five from beyond the arch.  However, it was his performance from the free throw line that helped seal the deal for the Giants as Lunger hit on 12 of 13 attempts.  On the night Keystone shot 82.1% (23-28) from the line.

Ryne Luce (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes) was the only other player to hit double digits for the Giants with 10 points.

Kyle Finklea scored 20 points to lead Immaculata.  Julius Lopez added 13 and Sean Fordham for the Mighty Macs.  Immaculata was as equally impressive from the free throw line with a 19-21 (90.5%) outing in a contest that featured nine lead changes and eight ties.

Both teams connected on 22 shots from the field, but it was Keystone's edge from three point range that proved to be the difference maker.  Thanks largely to Lunger's career night, the Giants held a 45-15 advantage in bench scoring.

Keystone returns to action on Thursday January 15 at 8pm when they travel to Baptist Bible College.
