Clarks Summit, PA (1-15-09) - Ellen Falllon converted two free throws with 16 seconds to play, as the Keystone Giants erased a double digit second half deficit for a 67-65 victory over Baptist Bible College in CSAC action.
With the victory, their fourth straight, Keystone moves to 7-4 overall and 2-1 in the CSAC, while Baptist Bible falls to 3-9, 0-5.
The Giants took control early and seemed ready to distance themselves form the Lady Defenders as Keystone twice built 12 point leads in the opening half. With 10:45 remaining in the first half Keystone had jumped out to a 21-9 lead, but Baptist Bible would go on a 27-13 run to take a 36-34 lead with 42 seconds left in the half.
Baptist Bible started the second half much the same way they ended the first half, as the Lady Defenders 14-6 run pushed their advantage to 10 with 13 minutes to play.
BBC still had the comfort of a 10 point bulge with 8:12 to play when the Giants went on an 11-0 run to take back the lead at 58-57 with 5:25 to play. Three-pointers by Fallon and Leah Simko started the run, the duo then added three free throws between them, while things were capped off by a Sarah Barretto steal and fast break layup to Melinda Moore.
Keystone built a 65-61 with just over one minute to play. However Marlie Kneifel hit a three with 57 seconds left to pull BBC within one 65-64. A free throw from Kneifel would tie the game moments later at 65. Fallon followed with her two free throws for the win.
Simko paced the Giants with a team high 19 points, with all five of her field goals coming from beyond the arc. She also turned in a 4-5 effort from the line. For the game Keystone went to the free throw line 40 times, converting on 24 of those attempts.
Fallon added 16 on the night, with Melinda Moore hitting for 14, aided by a 10-16 effort from the stripe.
Jessica Kobesky cleaned the glass for 14 rebounds, with Moore and Simko each adding nine.
Heather Dodd paced BBC with a game high 25 points.
Keystone returns to action on Saturday January 17 at 2pm when they to College of Notre Dame (MD).
