La Plume, PA (1-22-09) - Lakeema Jones scored a game high 22 points to lead four Cedar Crest players in double digits as the Falcons downed Keystone 70-62 in CSAC basketball action.
With the victory Cedar Crest evens its overall mark at 7-7 and 3-4 in the CSAC, while Keystone, losers of three straight, fall to 7-7 and 2-4.
Jones shot 50% from the field, including hitting three from beyond the arch, while also going 7-7 from the line to pace Cedar Crest. She also added a team high five assists.
Kelly Oakes hit for 15 points on 6-8 from the field. Liz Sunderhaus recorded a double-double with a 13-point and 10-rebound effort, while Keri Lasky chipped in with 12.
Ellen Fallon led the Giants with 18 points, to go along with four assists and four steals. Leah Simko added 14 and 7 rebounds, while Jessica Kobesky and Melinda Moore each added 10. Kobesky cleaned the glass for 13 boards to lead Keystone.
Danielle Burke led the Giants with six assists.
After building a four point advantage at the break, the Giants seemed to slowly take control of the game, as they built a nine point lead with 15:59 left. However, the Falcons responded with a 22-4 run over the next nine minutes to regain control of the contest.
Although the Giants out-shot the Falcons from the field, Cedar Crest hit on 56% of their shots from three-point range and 91% (19-21) from the free throw line.
Keystone will return to action on Saturday when they travel to Philadelphia Biblical University for a 2pm tip.
