La Plume PA (1-5-09) - Keystone College could not overcome another slow start as Lehman College pinned an 81-61 loss on the Giants in non-conference action.
With the win Lehman moves to 8-4 while the Giants fall to 5-3.
For the second consecutive game the Giants came out slowly against a CUNYAC program, but unlike Saturday's victory over Hunter, the Giants could shake off the sluggish beginning.
The lightning did everything they could to keep Keystone at bay in the opening twenty minutes, as they shot 77% from the field for the first 15 minutes of the half, finishing at 60% from the field and 67% from three-point range.
The second half was not much better for the Giants as Lehman kept the hot hand hitting 52% from the floor, while Keystone suffered with a sub-par 23% in the second half to finish at 28.8%.
Xavier Gavin led Lehman with 18 points, one of four Lightning players in double digits. Alen Redzic added a double-double with a 16-point and 10 rebound effort, while Duane Rhdenand Jonathan DeJesus each chipped in with 11.
Spencer Lunger (Lake Winola, PA/Tunkhannock) led the way for Keystone with 13 points, 12 of which came via the three. Michael Kelly (New Hartford, NY/New Hartford) added 10 points. In addition to the poor shooting night, the Giants did not help themselves on the glass, being outrebounded 41-27.
Keystone returns to action on Wednesday when they travel to Hilbert College for a 7pm tip.
