Quick strikes send men's soccer to CSAC loss

Gwynedd Valley, PA (10-13-09) - Gwynedd-Mercy College scored twice in a 16 second span to send Keystone College to a 2-1 men's soccer loss.

With the victory Gwynedd-Mercy moves to 7-7 overall and 4-1 in the CSAC, while Keystone falls to 3-11 and 1-5 in conference play.

The Griffins used a pair of goals in the fifth minute of the game to account for their entire offensive output.  Tom Petroski recorded an unassisted goal at 4:05 and Chris Playford added a goal just seconds later at 4:21 off an assist from Tim Mumford.

The Giants avoided the shut-out and made a game out of it when Scott Bensinger (Hegins, PA/Tri-Valley) scored off a Jamie Ellis (Shanklin, Isle of Wight England/Sandown) assist at 80:32.

Keystone keeper Ryan Gilroy (Dallas, PA/Dallas) recorded seven saves in net.

The Giants return to action on Saturday at 3pm when they play host to Immaculata University.  The match will be the second game of a doubleheader with the women's team, as the Keystone campus celebrates homecoming.
