Scranton, PA (10-3-09) -
Nicole Macedonio (Factoryville, PA/Lackawanna Trail) scored one goal and assisted on another as Keystone downed Marywood 2-0 in CSAC field hockey action.
With the victory Keystone moves to 7-2 overall and 2-0 in the CSAC, while Marywood falls to 2-7 and 1-3.
After a scoreless first half with back and forth action, Keystone opened the scoring with a penalty stroke three minutes into the second half. Macedonio placed the stroke in the upper left corner of the cage to give the Giants a 1-0 lead.
Nearly 20 minutes later, Macedonio set up an insurance goal for Keystone by sliding a pass to
Kellina Yarrish (Honesdale, PA/Honesdale) for a 2-0 lead.
Melinda Moore (Norwich, NY/Norwich) picked up the shutout in goal for Keystone with seven saves.
The Giants return to action on Wednesday at 3:30pm when they play host to Cabrini College. The march will be played at Riverfront Sports in Scranton, PA.
