Rosemont, PA (11-30-09) -
Kenneth Hardnett (Plant City, FL/Plant City) netted a game high 20 points, while also pulling in a game high 14 rebounds as the Giants overcame a second half deficit to down Rosemont College 65-59 in the CSAC opener for both teams.
With the victory Keystone evens its mark at 2-2, while Rosemont falls to 2-1.
After building a 13-point advantage in the first half the Giants took a 10-point lead into the break at 32-22 as the Ramblers slowed the pace of the game down in an attempt to neutralize the high powered Giants offense.
Rosemont went on an 26-8 run to start the second half to knot things at 40 with 11 minutes to play, eventually building an eight point lead with just over seven minutes to play. During the Ramblers run Keystone was held scoreless for nearly four minutes.
The Giants would put together a mini-run, reeling off eight straight points thanks in part to layups by Hardnett and
Channing Woodall (Plant City, FL/Plant City) and a three by
Ryne Luce (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes).
The Giants would take the lead for good with 3:39 to play when Woodall converted one of two free throw attempts. Keystone would extend the lead to seven as a Hardnett layup and a three and another layup by
Keith Whitenight (Berwick, PA/Berwick) put the Giants ahead.
Luce was the only other Keystone player to hit double digits, going four-of-four from beyond the arch on his way to a 16 point night.
Once again the charity stripe was not kind to the Giants as they hit on only 15 of 28 attempts.
Keystone will return to action on Thursday at 8pm when they play host to Philadelphia Biblical University.
