La Plume, PA (12-12-09) - Keystone College connected on 11 three-pointers as the Giants rolled by Rutgers-Camden University, 78-46, in non-conference men's basketball action.
With the victory, Keystone's fifth straight, the Giants move to 5-2 overall, while Rutgers-Camden fell to 4-4.
Ryne Luce (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes) led the three barrage hitting three times form beyond the arch, while
Tercel Taylor (Jackson, MI/Jackson),
Spencer Lunger (Lake Winola, PA/Tunkhannock) and
Alex Usera (Brentwood, NY/Brentwood) added two each.
Troy Robinson (Detroit, MI/Lincoln Park) and
Tim Benedix (Mission Viejo, CA/Capistrano Valley) each added a trey.
After jetting out to a 30-19 lead at the break, the Giants used accurate shooting and a good defense to distance themselves in the second half. The Giants used a 36-6 run over the first 12 minutes of the second half to build their largest lead of the afternoon, 66-25 with 7:19 to play.
Lunger netted a game high 15 points on 5-7 shooting from the field to pull within 48 points of the 1,000 point plateau for his career.
Taylor and
Kenneth Hardnett (Plant City, FL/Plant City) each added 14 points, while
Troy Robinson (Detroit, MI/Lincoln Park) chipped in with 11. Hardnett also pulled in a game high nine rebounds.
Malcolm Boone (Sugar Loaf, NY/Warwick) dished out a game high five assists, with Hardnett recording four steals.
James Coleman led The Scarlet Raptors with nine points.
The Giants will return to action on Monday January 4 at 7pm when they play host to Cabrini College.
