Keystone grounds Crimson Eagles

La Plume, PA (2-10-09) - The Keystone College men's basketball team used a hot shooting first half and suffocating defense in the second half as the Giants dominated Philadelphia Biblical University 79-41 in CSAC men's basketball action.

With the victory Keystone moves to 14-7 overall and 8-5 in the CSAC, while PBU falls to 1-20 and 0-12.

The Giants shot 54.3% from the field in the opening 20 minutes as they built a 12-point advantage at 47-26.  In the second half the Giants turned up the heat forcing 15 Crimson Eagle turnovers as PBU managed only 15 points.  PBU finished with 23 turnovers, while the Giants recorded 14 steals.

The duo of Malcolm Boone (Sugar Loaf, NY/Warwick) and Ryne Luce (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes) led the way for the Giants, each scoring 13 points.  Tercel Taylor (Jackson, MI/Jackson) and Spencer Lunger (Lake Winola, PA/Tunkhannock) each added 11, as 10 different players scored for Keystone.  Boone also added seven rebounds to the cause

Kenneth Hardnett (Plant City, FL/Plant City) was a force in the paint, pulling in 13 rebounds in just 15 minutes of action.  Hardnett set the tone early by grabbing seven boards in the game's first seven minutes.  Keystone held the advantage on the boards 37-26.

Lunger also recorded team highs in assists with five and steals with four.

Bart McCardle was the only PBU player in double figures with 12, eight of which came from the free throw line.  

Keystone will jump right back into action on Wednesday February 11 at 7pm when they host non-conference foe Lancaster Bible.
