Kean topples Giants 9-4

Union, NJ (3-22-09) -  Kean University hurler Joe Bartlinski struck out 12 batters in eight innings of work, as the nation's eighth ranked team handed Keystone a 9-4 loss.

With the victory Kean moves to 13-4, while Keystone falls to 12-4.

Keystone took their only lead of the game in the top of the first as Ray  Jackson scored on a sacrifice fly.  Kean jumped right back, plating three in the bottom of the first.

The Giants would inch closer in the third, drawing to within 3-2, however a three run sixth by Kean would put the game out of reach.

Eric Groff collected two of the Giants eight hits, as the junior also knocked in three of Keystone's four runs.  Kyle Conrad accounted for Keystone other RBI.

Sean Brewer worked five innings, allowing five hits and two earned runs in absorbing the loss.

Keystone will return to action on Wednesday March 25 at 3:30pm when they play host to Susquehanna University.
