Softball drops pair to Cabrini

Radnor, PA (4-25-09) - The Keystone College softball team went into its doubleheader at Cabrini needing two take two in the hopes of securing of a playoff berth.  However, the Cavaliers pulled out a pair of seventh inning victories to sweep the Giants and end Keystone's hopes of postseason play.

With the sweep Cabrini moves to 16-18 and 14-8, while Keystone falls to 12-22 and 10-12.

In the opener, a 3-2 Cavalier win, Keystone collected seven hits in the game.  Kim Kwitoski (Montrose, PA/Montrose) tripled and Megan Thomas (Clarks Summit, PA/Abington Heights) doubled to account for Keystone's extra base hits.  Katie Butzer (Lancaster, PA/Penn Manor) also picked up an RBI and a run scored.

In the nightcap the Giants managed only three hits, but took full advantage of seven Cabrini errors, however the Cavaliers used another seventh inning rally to squeak out the 8-7 win.

Sabrina Johnson, Leah Simko (South Gibson, PA/Mountain View) and Meagan Cunningham (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) each picked up a hit.
