Boyertown, PA (5-8-09) - Esteban Meletiche collected three hits as part of a 14-hit Keystone attack as the Giants downed Centenary College 12-1 in the opening round of the CSAC playoffs.
The Giants will now play Neumann College at 6:20pm in a winner's bracket game.
The Giants, who are fifth and ninth in the latest division III polls, moved to 35-4 overall with their 23rd straight win.
Melatiche scored twice and drove in a run as part of his team high output.
Jayson Rohena and Angel Fargas each went deep for the Giants, as Fargas connected on a three run shot to account for his lone hit, while Rohena drove in three and scored twice.
Sean Brewer went the distance to earn the win, working seven innings and striking out nine. Brewer, who struck out the first six batters of the game, allowed six hits and one earned run.
Kyle Conrad and Eric Groff each added two hits, with Conrad scoring twice with an RBI, while Groff added a double with a run and RBI.
Ben Fish drove in two as part of a 1-3 day and Donald Reese added two hits.
The winner of the Keystone - Neumann game will play at 7pm Saturday in the CSAC Championship game. The loser will play at 3pm against the 11am elimination game winner between Gwynedd-Mercy and Centenary.
All game times on Saturday are tentative depending on weather.
