Second half rally carries Wilkes to field hockey win

Kingston, PA (9-17-09) - Wilkes University recorded four second half goals to pull out a 5-2 non-conference field hockey victory over Keystone.

With the win Wilkes improves to 5-0 overall, while Keystone falls to 3-2.

Wilkes netted the game's lone first half goal as Brittany Sines scored unassisted at 27:22.  Sines also opened up the second half scoring at 37:53 to put the Colonels up 2-0.

Nicole Macedonio (Factoryville, PA/Lackawanna Trail) put Keystone on the board at 46:05 to cut the Wilkes lead to 2-1.  After another Wilkes goal raised the advantage to 3-1, Kellina Yarrish (Honesdale, PA/Honesdale) found the back of the cage off a Megan Thomas (Clarks Summit, PA/Abington Heights) assist to draw to 3-2.

That would be as close as the Giants would get as Wilkes would score twice more.

Keystone will return to action on Saturday when they travel to Arcadia for a 1pm match.
