Giants pick up non-conference win

Lancaster, PA (1-16-10) - The duo of Kenneth Hardnett (Plant City, FL/Plant City) and Malcolm Boone (Sugar Loaf, NY/Warwick) combined to score 45 points as Keystone College downed Lancaster Bible College 78-64 in non-conference basketball action.

With the victory the Giants move to 8-4 overall, while Lancaster Bible falls to 5-9.

Two days after scoring 98 points and shooting above 60% from the field and from beyond the arch, the Giants struggled somewhat with their shot, misfiring 15 times from three-point range to finish at 25% for the game.

However, the Giants forced 19 Lancaster Bible turnovers, while Hardnett and Boone combined to go 18-25 from the floor in earning the victory.

Hardnett, who missed only two shots on the afternoon, picked up the double-double with a game high 27 points and a game high 12 rebounds.

Boone, who has scored 68 points in the last three games, netted18 to go along with seven rebounds, seven steals and a pair of blocked shots.

Tercel Taylor (Jackson, MI/Jackson) poured in 16 points, while Tim Benedix (Mission Viejo, CA/Capistrano Valley) added 13.

Lancaster Bible was led by Madison Warfel and his 18 points.

Lancaster Bible actually built a lead as large as five points in a first half that saw eight lead changes and five ties.  They would re-take the advantage and build another five point bulge in the second half, but Keystone outscored Lancaster Bible 24-9 over the game's final eight minutes to take control.

The Giants will return to action on Monday at 8pm when they travel to Immaculata.
