Mighty Macs take CSAC showdown

Immaculata, PA (1-18-10) - Immaculata University sprinted out to a 12-point halftime lead and that is all the Mighty Macs would need as they topped Keystone College 70-57 in CSAC men's basketball action.

With the victory Immaculata moved to 8-6 overall and 6-1 in the CSAC, while the Giants dropped to 8-5 and 4-3 in conference play.

Keystone's Spencer Lunger (Lake Winola, PA/Tunkhannock) netted his 1,000th career point in the contest.  Lunger joins teammate Ryne Luce (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes) in reaching the milestone mark this season.  In true Lunger fashion, the senior guard connected on a three-pointer with 10:38 to play in the game to reach the plateau.

The Giants struggled in the first half going 8-16 from the charity stripe and 7-22 from the field as the Mighty Macs built a double digit advantage.

Keystone would cut the deficit to eight on two occasions in the second half, but their second run was answered by a 7-0 Immaculata run to ice the contest.

Kenneth Hardnett (Plant City, FL/Plant City) continued his strong play with a double-double for the Giants, with a 17-point and 11-rebound evening.  Lunger joined Hardnett in double figures with 15 points, while Malcolm Boone (Sugar Loaf, NY/Warwick) added 13.

Robert Siter led the Mighty Macs with 17 points, one of three players on their side to reach double figures.

Keystone will return to action on Thursday at 8pm when they play host to Centenary College.
