La Plume, PA (1-4-10) - Kevin Misevicius turned in a memorable night as the senior hit for a game high 45 points on 13-25 shooting from the field and a perfect 16-16 from the free throw line, as Cabrini College stayed perfect in the CSAC with a 93-85 victory over Keystone College in men's basketball action.
With the victory Cabrini moves to 8-1 overall and 4-0 in the conference, while Keystone, who saw their five game win streak snapped, fell to 5-3 and 3-1.
Misevicius was well on his way to a memorable night, as he netted 22 of the Cavaliers 47 first half points. He also connected for three of Cabrini's five three-pointers.
Cory Lemons added 13 points to go along with a game high eight assists, while A.J. Williams added 10.
Kenneth Hardnett (Plant City, FL/Plant City) led five Keystone players in double figures with a 16-point effort.
Tercel Taylor (Jackson, MI/Jackson) and
Spencer Lunger (Lake Winola, PA/Tunkhannock) each added 15, while
Ryne Luce (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes) added 14 and
Troy Robinson (Detroit, MI/Lincoln Park) chipped in with 10. Hardnett also pulled in a team high nine rebounds.
The Giants' largest lead of the game was a four point advantage in the first half, as the teams exchanged the lead seven times with five ties in the opening twenty minutes.
Holding a five point lead at the break Cabrini increased the advantage to nine at 51-42 for their largest lead to that point. Keystone responded with an 11-2 run when Taylor hit a jumper and was followed by three consecutive three-pointers by Luce to knot things at 53 with 15:08 to play.
The Giants fell behind again, but free throw shooting by Hardnett and a jumper by
Gary Robinson (Brooklyn, NY/Wyoming Seminary ) squared things at 68 with 9:01 left. The Cavaliers would regain the advantage yet again, increasing the lead to nine with 7:04 to play, however, three jumpers by Lunger highlighted an 11-2 run to square things at 81 with 3:09 to play, the ninth tie to that point.
Cabrini would take back the lead for good using a 30-41 effort from the free throw line to keep the Giants at bay the rest of the way.
Keystone will return to action on Saturday at 2pm when they travel to St. Joseph's (NY) for a non-conference contest.
