Men's hoops picks up conference road win

Immaculata, PA (12-4-10) - Kenneth Hardnett (Plant City, FL/Plant City) recorded his fourth double-double of the year as Keystone bounced back from a loss in their conference opener to take an early season CSAC road game at Immaculata, 51-46.

With the loss the Giants move to 4-1 overall and 1-1 in the CSAC, while Immaculata falls to 0-3, 0-2.

Hardnett finished with game highs in points and rebounds, hitting for 18 and pulling in 11 rebounds.

Trailing by four at the half, the Mighty Macs quickly tied things, even taking a brief lead early in the second half.  However, Keystone answered back with an 11-0 run of its own to lead by double digits, 39-29, with 11:34 remaining. Kevin Glenn spurred the Giants with five points during the stretch and Hardnett had four points on two fast-break dunks.

The Giants never relinquished the lead the rest of the way, as the Mighty Macs never got closer than three points (49-46) the rest of the game.

Hardnett, who finished the day 9-14 from the field, also recorded a game high eight steals.

Mike Kelly was the only other Keystone player in double figures with 15 points.  Kelly was a bright spot from the free throw line for the Giants going 5-5, while the remainder of the team managed only a 2-10 effort.

Kelly added four steals, while Coltin Ferrick (Girard, PA/Girard) led the team with four assists.

Rob Siter led Immaculata with 17 points, while Nelson Torres chipped in with 10.

Keystone will return to action on Monday at 8pm when they welcome Drew University to campus in a non-conference tilt.
