Mark Musumeci (Fulton, NY/G. Ray Bodley) netted only four points on the game, but two of those points proved to be the biggest of the night for either team as Keystone escaped with a non-conference road win at Lehman College, 64-62.
With the victory, Keystone's sixth straight, the Giants move to 14-5, while Lehman falls to 7-14.
After Lehman knotted things at 62 with six seconds to play, the Giants came out of a time out with Musumeci's number called, as
Tercel Taylor (Jackson, MI/Jackson) fed the freshman big man for the winning layup with just two seconds left on the clock.
Taylor paced the Giants by recording a double-double with a 15-point and 14-rebound outing. Taylor also added three assists and three steals.
While the Giants struggled from the beyond the arch, shooting 7-25 (28%), they were able to hit the three's when they needed it most, as
Ryne Luce (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes) finished with 13 points, 12 coming via the three-ball. The senior also added three assists.
Keystone struggled for most of the game, drawing close to the Lightning on several occasions, but never being able to overcome the Lehman lead for mos of the contest.
With just over 10 minutes to play
Troy Robinson (Detroit, MI/Lincoln Park) converted a layup to pull the Giants within one and a half-a-minute later it was a pair of Robinson free throws that gave the Giants a 48-47 advantage. Luce would add a pair of bombs from downtown to increase the Keystone lead to 56-49 with 7:24 to play.
Lehman would put together a modest run to knot things again, as the teams traded buckets over the final minutes. Luce would step again, converting one of two from the stripe with 29 seconds to play to give the Giants a 62-60 lead.
The Lightning set up an exciting finish when Patryk Odedina netted a game tying field goal with six seconds to play. The Giants called time out following Odedina's bucket, setting up the game winner.
Robinson finished with eight points and five steals for the Giants, while
Kenneth Hardnett (Plant City, FL/Plant City) added seven rebounds.
Perry Daniel hit for a game high 19 to pace Lehman.
Keystone will return to action on Saturday at 3pm when they return to CSAC action by hosting Rosemont College.
