Starters lead Giants to season sweep of BBC

La Plume, PA (2-15-10) - Keystone College placed four of its five starters in double figures, as the Giants rolled to a 67-54 win over Baptist Bible College in CSAC action.

With the victory, the Giants, who have clinched a CSAC postseason berth, move to 18-6 overall and 13-4 in the conference.  Baptist Bible College falls to 2-20 and 0-16.

The Keystone starting five was responsible for 66 of their 67 points, as Kenneth Hardnett (Plant City, FL/Plant City) netted a game high 17 points to go along with 10 rebounds.  The game marked Hardnett's 12th double-double of the year.

In what is usually a spirited and competitive contest, tonight was no exception as the teams battled back and forth for the better part of the first half, with the Giants never gaining more than a five point advantage for the better part of the first twenty minutes.

The Giants finally reached their first double digit advantage with 7:20 to play in the first half, jumping out to a 24-14 lead.  Baptist Bible would cut the lead to single digits only other time in the game, that coming just over three minutes into the second half.  However, Keystone would get back on serve and take control.

Hardnett finished 8-12 from the floor, while adding a pair of assists and steals.

Seniors Ryne Luce (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes) and Spencer Lunger (Lake Winola, PA/Tunkhannock), who were honored before the game, each finished with 15 points.  Luce connected four times from beyond the arc, while Lunger hit on three occasions.  Lunger was also solid from the charity stripe converting on six of seven attempts.

Malcolm Boone (Sugar Loaf, NY/Warwick) chipped in with 11 points, while adding six rebounds and three assists.  The sophomore also added two blocks and two steals.

Tercel Taylor (Jackson, MI/Jackson) finished the night with eight points for the Giants.

Tommy Waszaj led the Defenders with 15 points.

While the Giants have already secured a playoff berth in the CSAC, they can clinch the number two seed and a first round bye with a victory on Thursday at Gwynedd-Mercy.  Game time against the Griffins is 8pm.
