Hardnett pours in game high 24 as Keystone clips Rosemont 84-71

La Plume, PA (2-9-10) - Kenneth Hardnett (Plant City, FL/Plant City) poured in a game high 24 points as Keystone got back on the winning track with an 84-71 CSAC victory over Rosemont College.

With the victory the Giants move to 15-6 overall and 10-4 in the CSAC, while Rosemont falls to 5-17 and 3-12.

Hardnett missed only one field goal on the night, converting 11 of 12 attempts, as the Giants bounced back from a tough conference loss just 24 hours earlier.

Ryne Luce (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes) and Malcolm Boone (Sugar Loaf, NY/Warwick) each added 16 points, while Tercel Taylor (Jackson, MI/Jackson) added a dozen.  Luce connected on four of the Giants' eight three-pointers, as Keystone shot 50% from beyond the arch in the opening half.

Hardnett and Boone led the Giants with seven rebounds each, with Hardnett adding four steals.

Rusling Slawter paced the Ravens with a 20-point night, while Justin Chaney added 15 points for Rosemont.

The teams traded baskets back-and-forth for the first seven minutes of the game, with Rosemont holding its last lead at 17-16 with 13:30 remaining in the first half.  Keystone began to turn it on from that point, finishing the half on a 31-14 spurt to take a 47-31 lead into the break.

Keystone would build a lead as large as 18 points during the second half, as the Ravens tried to make a game of it.  Rosemont would cut the lead to eight on two different occasions, but that would be as close as they would get the remainder of the way.

The Ravens prevented the game from getting out of hand as they shot over 54% from the field for the game and were a perfect 13-13 from the free throw line on the night, but they fell victim to 20 turnovers, while the Giants committed just six.

Keystone will return to action on Thursday at 8pm when they travel to Centenary College as part of a doubleheader with Keystone women.
