Surfside Beach, SC (3-11-10) - The Keystone College softball team staged a late inning rally against Penn State Altoona, which resulted in a tie as rain ruined any chance of an extra inning affair.

The Giants scored six runs in the bottom half of the seventh to even the game with Penn State Altoona at 10.  However, heavy rain moved into the area forcing the game to end in a tie.  Keystone finished its season opening swing at 2-5-1.

Samantha Hartman (Red Bank, NJ/Red Bank Regional) and Tara Diesel (Bethpage, NY/Bethpage) each recorded two hits each for Keystone.  Abby Cohen (Bethlehem, PA/Freedom) drove in two with a home run, while Diesel and Carissa Iyoob (Jessup, PA/Valley View) also knocked in runs each.  

Loryn Haas (Jersey Shore, PA/Jersey Shore), Cohen and Hartman all scored two runs each.  

Keystone will return to action on Saturday March 20 at 1pm when they play host to Penn State Hazleton.
