Monarchs breeze by Giants, 13-1

Wilkes-Barre, PA (3-24-10) - After being postponed by rain on Tuesday evening, Keystone and King's finally had the chance to play game two of their non-conference doubleheader with the Monarchs recording a 13-1 victory.

With the win King's moves to 5-7 overall, while Keystone falls to 3-8-1.

King's jumped out quickly scoring six times in the first inning, as the Monarchs scored in each of the four innings in which they came to the plate.

Loryn Haas (Jersey Shore, PA/Jersey Shore) and Katie Butzer (Lancaster, PA/Penn Manor) each picked up a pair of hits, accounting for four of Keystone's five hits.  Hass included a triple among her hit total.  Kendra Bianchi (Montague, NJ/Port Jervis) added a single for the Giants' other hit.

Keystone will return to action on Friday at 3pm when they travel to Marywood University for a CSAC doubleheader.  The team returns home on Saturday for a 1pm conference twin bill with Rosemont College.
