La Plume, PA (4-21-10) - The Keystone College softball team saw its season high losing streak run to six games as the Giants dropped both ends of a non-conference doubleheader to Lycoming College, 11-4 and 11-1.
With the sweep the Warriors moved to 12-22, while Keystone, who has lost 11 of their last 12, fell to 10-21-1.
What worked for the Warriors in the opener, worked in game two as well as Lycoming scored 11 runs and knocked out 15 hits in each game.
In the opener a six run fourth and four run seventh carried the Warriors as Amanda Peck and Taylor Lesser each collected three hits each.
Carissa Iyoob (Jessup, PA/Valley View) picked up two of the Giants five hits, one of which was a double. Iyoob also drove in two for the cause.
Loryn Haas (Jersey Shore, PA/Jersey Shore) picked up then other Keystone RBI. Haas,
Lori-Ann Marino (Hawley, PA/Wallenpaupack) and
Janessa Karwowski (Carbondale, PA/Carbondale Area) each added a hit.
In the nightcap, Lycoming scored in five of the six innings played, bookended by a four run first and four run sixth.
The Giants managed just two hits in the game, an Iyoob double and a Haas single. Iyoob also drove in the lone run.
The Giants return to action on Saturday at 1pm when they play host to Cabrini College.
