Second half barrage sinks Privateers

La Plume, PA (9-14-10) - After a scoreless first half, Keystone College exploded for three second half goals, as the Giants turned back Maritime College 3-0 in non-conference women's soccer action.

With the victory the Giants move to 2-1 on the year, while the Privateers fall to 0-6.

Keystone controlled play throughout the match, as they held a 35-4 shot advantage, but it was not until the second half that they were able to dent the scoring column.

Seleta Oakley (Nicholson, PA/Mountain View) broke the stalemate at 56:15 off an assist from Charlice Brink for a 1-0 lead.  Oakley assisted on the next goal as Sara Gottschall (Muncy, PA/Muncy) took Oakley's corner kick and converted it for Keystone's second goal of the game.

Samantha Littleford (Nanticoke, PA/Greater Nanticoke Area) closed out the scoring at 71:56, with Gottschall assisting on her tally.

Maritime keeper Ashley Edington stopped 14 shots in net, while Samantha Finch (Morris, CT/Wamogo Regional) recorded three saves for the Giants.

The Giants will return to action on Saturday at 1:30pm as they open they conference slate with a home contest against Immaculata University.
