Volleyball drops five-set heartbreaker

Cazenovia, NY (9-4-10) - Keystone College overcame a 2-1 set deficit to force a deciding fifth set, but the Giants came up short in their quest to pick up their first win of the season, falling 3-2 to Cazenovia College.

With the win Cazenovia moves to 1-0, while Keystone falls to 0-2.

After taking the first set 25-20, Keystone ended up on the short end of the next two, falling 25-17 and 25-19.  They stormed back in set four taking a 25-20 decision.

Despite jumping out to an early advantage in the deciding fifth set, the Giants fell 15-11.

Shelby Morgan (Clarks Summit, PA/Abington Heights) recorded five kills to go along with three aces and 21 digs.  Kendra Bianchi (Montague, NJ/Port Jervis) led the Giants with 37 digs to go along with three aces, while Danielle Cedeno (Newark, DE/Christiana) added 12 digs.

Leah Simko (South Gibson, PA/Mountain View) recorded 28 of the team's 29 aces in an impressive showing.

The team will return home on Tuesday night at 7pm for a match with Misericordia University.
