La Plume, PA (9-8-10) - Keystone College used goals by three different players as the Giants held off a late charge to top Mount Saint Mary College 3-2 in non-conference men's soccer action.
With the victory Keystone moves to 2-1 on the season, while Mount Saint Mary falls to 0-3.
The Giants, who scored twice in the opening half, got on the board first when
Alex Boirand (Shanklin, Isle of Wight England/Sandown) converted a direct kick for a 1-0 lead at the 20:23 mark.
The Knights responded a little over nine minutes later tying the score on a Kevin Ryan goal. Keystone went back on top to stay with eight and a half minutes to play in the first half on
Scott Bensinger (Hegins, PA/Tri-Valley)'s third goal of the year.
Keystone extended the lead to 3-1 at 68:07 when
Jamie Ellis (Shanklin, Isle of Wight England/Sandown) used a
Dyer Moore (Norwich, NY/Norwich) assist for his first goal of the year.
Mount Saint Mary closed out the scoring at 75:18 on a goal by Ryan Folken.
Daniel O'Rourke recorded eight saves in net for the Giants.
Keystone will return to action on Saturday at 3pm when they play host to D'Youville College. A women's game against D'Youville will kick things off at 1pm.
