Langhorne, PA (3-26-11) - Keystone College opened up its 2011 conference slate in convincing fashion by taking both ends of its doubleheader with Philadelphia Biblical University, 16-0 and 16-3.
The sweep moves to the Giants to 7-6, 2-0, while PBU falls to 0-6, 0-2.
In the opener the Giants knocked out 14 hits while taking advantage of seven PBU errors. However, the big story of game one was the dominant pitching of Jeff Frost.
Frost nearly twirled a perfect game, losing his bid with one out in the seventh when the Crimson Eagles saw their lone base runner reach with a base hit. Frost struck out 11 in the win.
Andrew Siano knocked in four, while Ricky Espinoza and Brian Henry each added a pair.
Fernando Perez recorded a three-hit game, one of which was a double. Esteban Meletiche, Siano and Henry each added two hits, with Siano and Henry adding doubles to the mix.
In the nightcap Keystone used a 12-run third inning to erase any doubt as to the outcome of the game.
Blaine O'Brien picked up the win, working four innings, allowing two runs and striking out seven.
Kumar Piar and Espinosa each drove in four runs, while Meletiche added two. Will Delgado tripled while Piar and Edwin Padua added doubles.
Piar and Henry were two time hitters, as Keystone collected 10 hits, while also drawing 12 base-on-balls.
The Giants are scheduled to return to action on Wednesday when they play host to New Jersey City University.
