Ninth inning blast lifts Neumann

La Plume, PA (4-1-11) - Bill Pace's one out two-run home run in the top of the ninth inning lifted  Neumann University to a come from behind 5-4 victory over Keystone College in CSAC baseball action.

With the victory Neumann improves to 18-3 overall and 2-2 in the CSAC, while Keystone falls to 8-7 and 2-1,

Pace lifted a high fly ball off losing pitcher Andy Eggleston that sailed over the left field fence to give the Knights the victory.  Prior to Pace's home run, the Knights Nick Martin reached base safely taking advantage of Keystone's fifth error of the game to put the tying run on.

The Giants used a two-run eight inning to take their first lead of the game, using an RBI pinch hit double  by Gabe Torres to knot things at four.  The go ahead run came around to score after Domenick Montanaro, who pinch ran for Torres, stole third and came home after the throw got by the Knights third baseman.

Neumann got on the board with a run in the top of the second, before the Giants knotted things in the bottom of the inning on a Fernando Perez single.

The Knights added single runs in the third and fifth to take a 3-1 lead, before Keystone closed the gap to 3-2 in the fifth on an Andy Vega single.

Brian Henry, Fernando Perez and Vega each picked up three hits for the Giants.

Pace had the big day for the Knights, with a 3-5 effort at the plate, scoring three runs and driving in two.

The Giants and Knights will get right back at it tomorrow in Aston, PA with a doubleheader scheduled to kick off at noon.
