La Plume, PA (4-8-11) - Jeff Frost worked eight innings of one-hit ball, while Esteban Meletiche and Andy Vega supported him with the long ball as Keystone College took their series opener with Gwynedd-Mercy College 5-0.
With the victory the Giants move to 12-8 overall and 5-1 in the conference, while the Griffins fall to 6-8-1 and 3-1.
Frost was working on a perfect game until Shane Lynch drew a one out walk in the seventh inning. The senior hurler from Freehold, NJ took his no-hit bid into the eight, only to see it come to an end with a one out single to center by Greg Brooks.
Frost struck out 11 in evening his season mark at 3-3.
After three scoreless innings to start the game, the Giants finally broke through in the fourth when Andrew Siano scored on a Brian Henry sacrifice fly.
Keystone would tack on two runs in the sixth, with the first coming on a Meletiche home run. Siano also came around to score his second run of the game in the inning on a Roberto Santana base hit.
The Giants added single runs in the seventh and eight innings with a Vega blast and a Santana double. Santana led the Giants 10-hit afternoon with three hits, while Henry and Siano added two each.
The Giants and Griffins will continue their series on Sunday as they meet for a doubleheader at Gwynedd-Mercy beginning at 12pm.
